(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 14 - Italian members of the UNIFIL mission
in Lebanon on Monday found incendiary devices along a road
leading to one of their bases.
A series of explosive incendiary devices positioned along the
road leading to the advanced operating base UNP 1-32A, in
southern Lebanon, was identified Monday morning by a patrol of
the Italian contingent of UNIFIL during a logistical movement.
A team of bomb disposal experts from the national contingent,
who intervened, secured the area but were unable to complete the
clearance operations because, for reasons currently being
ascertained, one of the devices ignited, causing a fire in the
surrounding area.
No damage to people or vehicles has been reported. (ANSA).
