(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 15 - The international community should
think about the future of Gaza once a cease-fire has been
reached between Israel and Hamas, Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni
said Tuesday.
We all agree on peace, Italy has been working since the
beginning in Ukraine and the Middle East to build peace, then we
need to agree on how peace is built in concrete terms: in the
Middle East it means continuing to work for the ceasefire in
Gaza and Lebanon," she said in her reply to the debate on her
briefing to the Senate in view of the European Council meeting
in Brussels Wednesday.
It is not easy, but it is the work that I and the competent
ministers devote ourselves to every day. It means the ceasefire,
the release of hostages. I think that the European Union can and
must play a role and that we must already think concretely about
what should happen in Gaza in the aftermath of the ceasefire,
how to concretely accompany the transition towards the option of
two peoples and two states". (ANSA).
