(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 26 - No problems have been reported with
Italians in Iran after Israel's strikes on military targets in
the Asian country Saturday in retaliation for Tehran's October 1
ballistics missile attack on Israel, Foreign Minister Antonio
Tajani said Saturday.
"We have no news in any way of involvement of our
countrymen in the Israeli attacks in Iran, I spoke
this morning with our ambassador in Tehran, our
citizens are all safe and there are no victims," said Deputy
Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Tajani to
Rainews24.
Tajani said he was "convinced that there will be no
reactions from the Iranian side".
The risk "of an escalation "is always there but
I believe it is a risk that can be averted with the work of
diplomacy and the commitment of everyone".
And Defence Minister Guido Crosetto also said he did not think
that Iran will react.
"Military targets were hit, the attack was expected', he said.
