(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 6 - Italy is raising the level of
attention on a still unknown disease that has led to over 70
deaths in Congo.
In a letter sent by the Ministry of Health, which ANSA was able
to view, the USMAF, the Maritime, Air and Border Health Offices
of the Ministry of Health, are asked "to pay attention at all
entry points, especially for direct flights from the country".
The local authorities in close collaboration with the
international ones "are working to verify the situation and
provide a rapid and effective response to this new epidemic
outbreak that is affecting the country, already recently hit by
the mpox epidemic", the letter said. (ANSA).
