(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 11 - Relations between Italy and Spain are
extraordinary, President Sergio Mattarella told visiting Spanish
royals on Wednesday.
"Your visit to Italy is of great importance also for the
historical moment that the European Union and the international
community are going through, but the solidity covers all aspects
of the extraordinary relations that exist between Spain and
Italy", he told King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia.
Felipe told Mattarella it would be a "very great honour" to
address the Italian parliament.
Marking the royals' state visit, Madrid conferred on Mattarella
and Premier Giorgia Meloni the Order of Catholic Isabella.
