(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 27 - With the surge in landings recorded
over the weekend (about 1,500), migrant arrivals in Italy so far
in 2025 reached 3,074, with an increase of 136% compared to the
same period of the previous year, the interior ministry said
Monday.
It said good sea conditions had favored departures, which were
recorded above all from Libya towards Lampedusa.
Ministry data showed that Pakistanis (525), Bangladeshis (321),
Egyptians (206) and Syrians (119) were the most numerous among
those who landed.
Unaccompanied minors were 221, said the ministry. (ANSA).
