(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 5 - Two men of Egyptian origin were arrested Thursday on suspicion of robbing anti-migrant League leader and Transport Minister Matteo Salvini's 19-year-old son of his phone after allegedly threatening him with a broken bottle in Milan on December 23.
The pair, aged 21 and 26, are accused of taking the phone with menaces from Federico Salvini in Milan's Via Jacopo Palma.
The victim recognized the younger man as the one who actually took the phone while the other man allegedly acted as a look-out, police said.
The arrests were made by state police after viewing CCTV footage of the incident.
After the incident, Salvini Sr complained of rising crime in the Lombard capital.
The former strongman interior minister, who has faced trials for stopping migrants landing in Italy, has often fulminated about rising immigrant crime rates and teen migrant gangs. (ANSA).
