(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 10 - Migrant flows across the central
Mediterranean route to Italy have risen by 116% in the first two
months of the year, EU border agency Frontex said Friday.
It said the route was by far the most active of all in January
and February 2022.
In all, there were almost 12,000 crossings, more than double the
same period last year.
In February alone the flow tripled with respect to a year ago,
reaching 7,000, said the border agency. (ANSA).
