(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 10 - A pleasure boat sank some 15 miles
off the Tuscan city of Livorno on Thursday after its motor
caught fire and the flames quickly spread.
The crew managed to alert the emergency services in time and the
people on board are safe after fleeing on a life boat and then
being rescued by Coast Guard.
A fire brigade vessel managed extinguish the fire but the boat
sank anyway due to the damage caused.
The blaze gave off a big column of smoke that could be seen from
the shore. (ANSA).
