(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 11 - In Italy 35,487 crimes against the
environment were committed in 2023, an average of one every four
hours, Legambiente said Thursday in its annual 'Ecomafia'
report.
The Italian environmental association said the total was up
15,6% with respect to 2022.
It added that revenues from environmental crimes in Italy are
estimated to mount up to around 8.8 billion euros, with
Campania, Sicily Puglia and Calabria the worst hit regions.
