(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 21 - Low earners are set to be eligible
for a 100-euro Christmas bonus at the end of this year,
according to a government amendment to the 'omnibus' decree
currently being examined by the Senate's budget and finance
committees.
The bonus is for people in work, but not the self-employed,
earning up to 28,000 euros a year with a spouse and at least one
child financially dependent on them.
The bonus will be 100 euros net as it will not count as part of
the worker's declared income.
It will not be paid automatically - the workers will have to
apply for it.
The measure will cost the State 100.3 million euros this year.
