(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 21 - A 26-year-old man has died of the
stab wounds he suffered after intervening to defend a woman from
a man who was trying to rob her in the Venice district of Mestre
overnight.
Another man who also tried to defend the woman suffered injuries
to his leg but is not in a life-threatening condition, sources
said.
The deceased and the injured man were both active at a left-wing
'social-centre' in the city, 'Rivolta'.
The assailant has been detained by police. (ANSA).
