(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 21 - A mayor and his deputy were among
several people arrested in an alleged mafia vote buying case
near Naples Monday.
Poggiomarino Mayor Maurizio Falanga, Deputy Mayor Luigi
Belcuore, and wheeler-dealer Franco Carillo were arrested on
suspicion they got votes in exchange for contracts for the
Camorra to lay methane lines and carry out cemetery services in
the town.
The local Camorra chapter was led by boss Rosario Giugliano,
police said. (ANSA).
