(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 8 - Italian 16-year-old wunderkind
Francesco Camarda will make his Serie A debut start for AC Milan
against Cagliari Saturday after recently playing in their 3-1
Champions League win over Bruges, coach Paulo Fonseca said
Friday in announcing the replacement for Spain veteran Alvaro
Morata who was ruled out by a head injury sustained in training
Thursday.
"He's mature and I have no doubts about him, for me players have
qualities not ages", the Portuguese coach told reporters.
Milan-born 6ft tall forward Camarda has played six games for
Milan's youth team scoring one goal.
He has five Italy under-19 caps and three goals for his country.
Camarda came on for Morata in the 75th minute in the
Nerazzurri's victory over Bruges on October 22, and made a good
impression.
Fonseca told a press conference: "(Camarda) works with us every
day, for me players have no age but have quality and he shows it
every day.
Morata has a specific role, (but Camarda) is not just a striker.
He unlocks games with a pass between the lines.
"Camarda can do it better than Abraham, who is not in great
shape.
"Camarda is sixteen but he is mature, he is not afraid, in
training he looks 25-26. I never had any doubts about the
choice". (ANSA).
