(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 18 - World number one Jannik Sinner continued his remarkable year in Turin on Sunday when he became the first Italian to win the season-ending ATP Finals, beating American Taylor Fritz 6-4, 6-4.
    "It's a special moment," said the 23-year-old, who notched his eighth title of the year without dropping a set.
    "It means so much to win in front of this incredible crowd.
    "I tried to find a better key (to the encounter) than last year," added the Australian Open and US Open champion, who lost last year's ATP Finals to tennis great Novak Djokovic.
    "Today there was more tension.
    "I am happy to share this with the Italian public".
    Premier Giorgia Meloni.was among the first to pay tribute to him.
    "Congratulations to Jannik Sinner who, with his victory at the ATP Finals in Turin and finishing the season in first place in the rankings, has written another page in history for Italian tennis.
    "It's a triumph that rewards talent, dedication and passion.
