(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 22 - Gale-force winds swept Italy on
Friday reaching speeds of 150 kph and raising up to eight-metre
waves along coastlines.
The gales caused severe disruption in Tuscany with road and rail
traffic halted while in Naples ferries to Ischia and Procida
were halted and in Marche trees were blown down and hit
stationary and empty cars.
Trees were felled by gales at La Spezia where a container lorry
was blown into the sea.
Conditions will improve at the weekend, weathermen said. (ANSA).
