(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 2 - Street art portraying Holocaust
survivors Liliana Segre, a Life Senator, and Sami Modiano called
"Anti-Semitism, History Repeating" made on September 30 in Milan
by aleXsandro Palombo has been removed, the artist said on
Monday.
Palombo recalled that the mural, located in Milan's Piazzale
Loreto, was vandalized on November 11 with the Stars of David
sprayed with paint and the face of the Life Senator disfigured.
The artist said on Monday that he felt "profoundly embarrassed"
by the removal, which he called "an offense after the offense,
the best way to hide anti-Semitism at a time when anti-Semitism
is spreading and someone has also decided to deny honorary
citizenship to a woman who survived the Holocaust", referring to
Pinerolo near Turin. (ANSA).
