UNHCR expresses concern about externalising asylum procedure

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, NOV 29 - "The situation for thousands of refugee migrants in Europe remains dire. It is painful to see how the debates are entwined with populism and demagogy," said UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNHCR) Volker Turk at the European Parliament. "The concerning trend of outsourcing asylum procedures by sending migrants to third-country destinations only fuels human rights fears," he added. (ANSA).
