(ANSA) - BELGRADE, AUG 20 - The transit of Russian gas to
Europe via the pipeline that passes through Sudzha, where
fighting is taking place between Moscow's and Kiev's forces, has
resumed after the weekend, totalling more than 42 million cubic
metres per day, said Sergei Kupriyanov, a representative of
Gazprom, Russia's state-owned energy company. After Russia, the
Urengoy-Pomary-Uzhgorod pipeline passes through Ukraine, which
continues to pay Moscow for transit rights.
