(ANSA) - VILNIUS, 05 NOV - The number of agents engaged in
the border control service between Lithuania and Belarus is
expected to increase by around 450 over the next two years. The
commander of the Baltic country's Border Guard, Rustam Liubayev,
annouced.
Since 2021, the border between the two countries has
repeatedly been the target of illegal immigration flows, which
Lithuania considers a hybrid weapon employed by Minsk. In that
time, Lithuanian border guards have turned back some 21,500
people, mostly of Middle Eastern and Asian origin. (ANSA).
