(ANSA) - BELGRADE, OCT 6 - "We are certainly supporters of
European Union enlargement," Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas
said upon arrival at the Granada summit, adding that "if we look
at Europe competing with other regions of the world, then we
would all benefit from enlargement." However, Kallas urged the
candidate countries to implement the necessary reforms "as we
have all done."
She emphasised that by joining the European Union "our
country's and people's prosperity has actually increased." "It
is also in Europe's interest for these countries to implement
reforms, the rule of law, democracy, and the abolition of
corruption," she added. (ANSA).
