Italy-Germany-Austria agreement on 'Hydrogen Corridor'

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAY 30 - Italy, Germany, and Austria joined forces to build the Southern Hydrogen Corridor. On the sidelines of the EU Energy Council in Brussels, the three countries signed a declaration of intent in which they commit to the construction of the so-called 'Southern Corridor 2', the hydrogen gas pipeline of over 3,000 kilometres that connects North Africa (where the majority of green hydrogen will be produced) first to Italy and then up to Germany and Austria, helping to achieve the EU's objectives of importing 10 million tonnes of renewable hydrogen by 2030, as envisa (ANSA).
