Lufthansa's last offer to EU for ITA deal

(ANSA) - TRIESTE, JUN 9 - Lufthansa is ready to make new sacrifices on Fiumicino's routes to the United States in order to get Brussels' approval for ITA Airways deal. According to EU sources, "negotiations continue" and "an orientation" on the verdict "will be taken after the European elections". Lufthansa intends to freeze for two years the alliance with Ita for long routes from Italy to North America.
    The offer so far has been considered insufficient by the EU.
    Attempting a final mediation, Lufthansa added further guarantees. The announcement of the EU decision is expected by July 4. (ANSA).
