German growth downgraded as economy struggles

(ANSA-AFP) - FRANKFURT AM MAIN, NOV 22 - Germany's growth in the third quarter was downgraded Friday to a meagre expansion, in a new blow for Europe's top economy as it battles a prolonged period of weakness. Output expanded just 0. 1 percent quarter-on-quarter, according to final figures from federal statistics agency Destatis, down from a preliminary reading of 0.2 percent. (ANSA-AFP).
