(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JUN 12 - Schools in Greece will remain closed, public employees will work from home, and deliveries will not be made amid a 'mini-lockdown' caused by this summer's first major heatwave, which has also put authorities on standby for power supply, according to Kathimerini.
According to an updated National Weather Service bulletin (EMY), scorching temperatures of more than 40 degrees Celsius are expected to persist in the interior of the Greek mainland, primarily in the central and southern regions. The Ministry of Culture has announced that the Acropolis of Athens, Greece's most visited site, will be closed to the public today during the hottest hours of the day. (ANSA).
