(ANSA) - BELGRADE, AUG 29 - Greek authorities have begun
collecting hundreds of thousands of dead fish that washed up in
a tourist port in Volos (central Greece) this week after being
displaced from their natural freshwater habitat by last year's
Thessalian floods. The dead fish have left a silvery blanket
over the port and a stench that has alarmed residents and
authorities, who have rushed to collect them before the odour
spreads to nearby restaurants and hotels.
