(ANSA) - BELGRADE, OCT 7 - Italgas plans to invest 15.6
billion euros by 2030, 92% more than the previous plan, with the
goal of becoming a "European champion capable of creating the
gas industry of the future. " With the acquisition of 2i Rete
Gas, the "widespread application of artificial intelligence in
gas, water, and energy efficiency, and with digitalisation,
Italgas aims for double-digit profit growth over the course of
the plan." The investments envisaged in Italgas' 2024-2030
Strategic Plan are intended for the acquisition of 2i Rete Gas,
announced on 5 October for an enterprise value of 5.3 billion
euros, for interventions to develop gas distribution in Italy
and Greece, to strengthen its presence in the water sector, and
to accelerate growth in the field of energy efficiency, with a
"strong commitment to achieving the European Union's climate
objectives." (ANSA).
