(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, 30 LUG - There is alarm in the EU over the
decision announced by Budapest these days to facilitate the
release of visas to Russian and Belarusian visitors.
"The Commission will contact the Hungarian authorities to
clarify" because "Russia represents a threat to European
security" and "it is necessary to protect the security of the
Schengen area", underlined a Commission spokesperson.
In recent hours, EPP leader Manfred Weber wrote to the
European Council asking for intervention against a measure which
"opens the doors to Russian spies" in Europe, he said. (ANSA).
