Slovenia extends checks at border with Croatia and Hungary

By another six months

Redazione Ansa

(ANSA) - TRIESTE, NOV 21 - Slovenia's government has extended the internal Schengen border checks with Croatia and Hungary, which were in place until December 21, by another six months, according to Slovenian news agency STA today.
The Government Communication Office (UKOM) stated that this is a temporary measure put in place to ensure a high level of security for all citizens in light of the increased threat of terrorism. Slovenia implemented border controls with Croatia and Hungary on October 21, last year, in response to the Middle East's deteriorating security situation and the increased threat of terrorism. Italy imposed border controls with Slovenia for the same reasons and has since expanded them, as has Slovenia, STA recalled. (ANSA).
