(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JUN 9 - European voters will go to the polls today in 20 countries, including France, Germany, and Italy, on the final day of the marathon for the European elections, which began in Estonia on June 3. More than 400 million people are eligible to vote, making this election the world's second largest democratic poll after India. In a year of critical elections, the vote in the EU is especially important in a continent marked by polarised politics and rising nationalism, the BBC reports today. According to forecasts, Europe's main centre-right grouping will prevail across the EU when the first exit poll projections are released this evening.
    Voting is scheduled in Austria is from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.; in Belgium and Luxembourg from 8:00 to 14:00 (and until 16:00 in Belgium if you opt for electronic voting); in Bulgaria (where citizens will vote for the parliamentary elections as well) from 7:00 to 20:00; in Croatia, Greece, and Slovenia from 7:00 to 19:00; in Cyprus from 7:00 to 18:00; in Estonia, Finland, Spain, Sweden, and Denmark from 9:00 to 20:00; in France and Germany from 8:00 to 18:00, in Hungary from 6:00 to 19:00, and in Italy from 7:00 to 23:00.
