'EU ReArm plan is a first step, we need more resources': Latvia

(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, 20 MAR - "It is essential that the EU resources" announced by the European Commission in the ReArm plan "and national resources are mobilized for a stronger Europe and to support our defense industry. We must cut our bureaucratic burden to allow our economy to grow. " Latvian Prime Minister Evika Siliņa said this upon arriving at the European Council, emphasizing the need to "be strong enough" to respond to a potential Russian invasion threat on European territory.
    She highlighted that the EU Commission's white paper "is only the first step toward achieving the 2030 military capability goals. We are open to discussions on how to find more resources.
