(ANSA) - VILNIUS, AUG 23 - The Lithuanian Army has received a
batch of more than 150 units of the U.S. -made Jltv armored
all-terrain vehicles. This was announced in a press release from
the Vilnius Defense Ministry. "The modernization of the
Lithuanian military is progressing rapidly," commented Vilnius
Defense Minister Laurynas Kasciunas. "The new batch of Jltv
vehicles delivered to Lithuania this week once again
demonstrates the close cooperation between the Lithuanian and
U.S. military forces. These armored vehicles will also be used
as a platform for short-range air defense systems scheduled for
delivery between 2025 and 2027." Last year, Lithuania had
received a first batch of 200 vehicles. Another 150 vehicles
will be delivered over the next year. (ANSA).
