(ANSA) - BERLINO, 13 AGO - German Chancellor Olaf Scholz supports tougher enforcement of deportations for migrants who do not have the right to remain in Germany and backs plans proposed by Interior Minister, Social Democrat Nancy Faeser. Scholz said this in an interview with Zdf, speaking of a "package" that follows a precise "line" and will now first be discussed with the Laender and then "brought to the legislature." Among other things, Faeser's reform includes an extension of custody preceding deportation from 10 to 28 days. Also planned is a digitization and unification of the work of the authorities in charge of foreigners. Countries such as Georgia and Moldova would also be classified as "safe" for repatriation.
