(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAR 6 - Traian Basescu, two-time president
of Romania, in office from 2004 to 2014, has officially declared
his intention to retire from political life. Basescu, who is 72
years old and has previously served as minister and mayor of
Bucharest, has declared that he will not run in the next
elections and will devote himself to the foundation he founded.
