(ANSA) - BUCAREST, NOV 2 - Italy and Romania shared experiences and practices of alternative care for children in both countries, as well as ongoing efforts to prevent the separation of children from their families and to complete deinstitutionalization processes. The event was organized by the Embassy of Italy in Bucharest in collaboration with the Romanian Ministry of Family, Youth and Equal Opportunities and UNICEF Romania. The event, held in Palatul Victoria headquarters of the Government of Romania, laid the groundwork for the creation of networks of practitioners in Italy and Romania to exchange best practices and continuously improve standards in the field. "In light of the strong ties between our countries and societies and fruitful collaboration in a number of areas, in line with the Strategic Bilateral Partnership re-launched last February, today's conference reinforces our common commitment to improving the lives of children and supporting families." , said Ambassador of Italy to Romania Alfredo Durante Mangoni. "Italy," he added, "has developed many good practices in the field of alternative care, including in recent years as part of the European Child Guarantee trial. Since it will soon be 35 years since the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the exchange of experiences and the development of cooperation in favor of children are of particular importance for both countries."
