(ANSA) - BELGRADE, DEC 7 - "A new European constitutional
architecture is absolutely necessary today in this season of the
new enlargements, from Ukraine to the Balkans to other
countries," said the President of Foreign Affairs Committee of
the Italian Chamber of Deputies, Giulio Tremonti today.
Tremonti spoke at the NATO Defence College Foundation's
'Balkan and Black Sea Perspectives 2023,' a high-level
conference organised in collaboration with the NATO Public
Diplomacy Division, the NDC, and Fondazione Compagnia di San
Paolo.
The foundation was founded in 2011 and is led by Ambassador
Alessandro Minuto-Rizzo, a long-time diplomat and former NATO
Deputy Secretary General. South Eastern Europe is a region
"crucial for European security" and the Balkan and Black Sea
region "should become part of the Euro-Atlantic community and
the invasion of Ukraine has given a new sense of urgency,"
Minuto-Rizzo noted. (ANSA).
