Aircraft severely damaged after takeoff from Belgrade

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, FEB 19 - According to Ex-Yu Aviation, a Marathon Airlines Embraer E195 operating on behalf of Air Serbia sustained significant damage to its fuselage and wing box yesterday evening during takeoff from Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport when the aircraft allegedly collided with the runway approach lights. The Embraer in question eventually returned safely in Belgrade. No people on board were injured. "The safety of passengers was not compromised at any time," Air Serbia stated. (ANSA).
