Belgrade should not intensify relations with Moscow: EU

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, SEP 5 - "We expect Serbia to refrain from intensifying relations and contacts with Russia," and that "all members of the Serbian government respect or will respect the voluntary commitments that Serbia has made in the EU accession process, including alignment with EU foreign policy decisions and actions." Maintaining or strengthening relations with Russia during its illegal aggression against Ukraine is incompatible with EU values and the accession process. This was stated by Peter Stano, the spokesperson for the European External Action Service, in response to the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin.
