(ANSA) - AQUILEIA, 09 NOV - Named Walk2Spirit, this new
spiritual journey connects the Patriarchal Basilica of Aquileia
with the Sanctuary of Sveta Gora in Slovenia. The 82-kilometer
cross-border route follows the Iter Goritiense.
Created and organized by the Socoba Foundation, which manages
the Basilica in Aquileia, in lead partnership with the Sanctuary
of Sveta Gora, Walk2Spirit is funded by the EU under the Small
Project Fund of the GO! 2025 Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia
Program 2021-2027, managed by EGTC GO.
Today, Socoba Foundation Director Andrea Bellavite, along
with project managers Mattia Vecchi and Nace Novak from both
institutions, announced two new features during a stop on the
second leg of the journey from Sagrado to Mirenski Grad, where
about sixty cross-border hikers were gathered.
The first feature is the Pilgrim's Passport, an identifying
credential that verifies each stop along the route. It will be
issued to all pilgrims traveling between Aquileia and Sveta
Gora. Each stamp certifies a completed stage, creating a
tangible journey memory. Upon completing the route, pilgrims
will receive a comprehensive testimony of their pilgrimage.
The second feature, available starting today, is the option
to download GPX tracks of individual stages of the journey from
the official website. This precise, interactive digital guide
allows easy route navigation using GPS devices or navigation
apps. (ANSA).
