Departures from Trieste for the summer seasons 2025 to 2027

(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 06 DIC - The Friuli Venezia Giulia Region has announced a new procurement procedure for an international cross-border maritime service connecting Trieste with Slovenia and Croatia. The contract, set to last three years, will cover the summer seasons from 2025 to 2027, with an option for extension into 2028. This announcement was made by the Regional Councilor for Infrastructure and Territory, Cristina Amirante, who said, "with this new procurement procedure, we aim to enhance the service to meet the needs of tourists and citizens better." According to the statement, the total budget for the three years is 4.5 million euros, 1.5 million euros per year. The service will depart and return to Trieste, with destinations including Piran (Slovenia), Poreč, Rovinj, and Mali Lošinj (Croatia). The service is scheduled to commence on June 26, 2025, and there may be opportunities to extend the service within the parameters of the enhanced offer.
    The maritime service will be operated by passenger vessels that meet specific minimum requirements during the following operational periods: June 26 to September 1, 2025; June 25 to August 31, 2026; and June 24 to August 30, 2027. Key criteria for the enhanced technical offer include the age of the vessels, passenger capacity, vessel speed, bike storage availability, service period extension, and the promotion and enhancement of the service.
    The tender also outlines two weekly connections for each of the following routes: Trieste to Piran to Poreč, Trieste to Rovinj to Mali Lošinj, Trieste to Poreč to Piran, and Trieste to Piran to Rovinj. The procurement process is being managed digitally through the eAppalti FVG platform. The deadline for submitting offers is set for noon on February 4, 2025. (ANSA).
