(ANSA) - BELGRADE, DEC 11 - Poland will designate its
rotating presidency of the EU as "Security, Europe." On January
1, the Polish presidency will commence and be the first to be
fully operational with the new Commission. The presidency's
priorities were presented in Warsaw in front of Prime Minister
Donald Tusk. Warsaw's priorities revolve around the concept of
security in all of its forms, from common defence to hybrid
threat strategy, all the way to energy security. "The Polish
presidency will support activities to strengthen European
security in all dimensions: external, internal, economic,
information, energy, food, and health," stated Minister for EU
Affairs Adam Szłapka. The Polish flag, with the letters "U" and
"E," symbolises Poland's commitment to the European Union, its
20-year membership, its involvement in European affairs, and its
ambition to define new directions for EU policies, particularly
in terms of the continent's security. (ANSA).
