(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 07 MAG - A summer of cultural excellence:
that's what the 72nd Ljubljana Festival, scheduled in the
Slovenian capital from June 20 to September 3, is about to kick
off.
The Festival, founded by the City of Ljubljana, was presented
on Monday in Trieste.
The Congress Square will host the performances of selected
soloists, accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra, Big Band, and
Youth Choir of Slovenian RTV under the direction of Patrik
Greblo.
There will be several collaborations with Italian artists and
ensembles throughout the summer, including a concert by
Brazilian Minister of Culture Margareth Menezes (July 21).
Also on the calendar from July 7 to 12 is the International
Art Colony, which will take place at the Križanke under the
guidance of selector and painter Tomo Vran.
Many master classes will be available for young musicians
under the artistic direction of Branimir Slokar. The Slovenian
Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by maestro Charles Dutoit, the
103rd recipient of the Royal Philharmonic Society's gold medal,
will be on the stage on the Festival closing day, September 3.
