(ANSA) - GORIZIA, AUG 29 - Ranging from film culture to fairy tales, via passive bilingualism and haute cuisine, wine and theater: these are the 44 projects funded by the first Spf GO! 2025 call for proposals, closed in 2023, and presented today by Gect Go. An initiative that demonstrates the variety and creativity that will be poured into the area through the more than 350 events, some already underway, others planned. The projects will also contribute to the training of more than 1,000 people, helping to leave an imprint on the professionalism of cross-border citizens. The event was attended by Gect GO President Paolo Petiziol, the mayors of Gorizia and Nova Gorica, Rodolfo Ziberna and Samo Turel, and Friuli Venezia Giulia's Councillor for Finance Barbara Zilli. The GO! 2025 Small Projects Fund draws on resources from the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia 2021-2027 Program and is therefore funded by the EU to the tune of about 4.5 million; the first call received an additional 3.2 million in funding from the Fvg Region. After the 2023 edition, a second one was proposed in 2024: on this occasion 134 project proposals were received, of which 116 passed administrative checks. "These are great projects, important pieces that will contribute to make the European Capital of Culture Nova Gorica-Gorizia 2025 even more attractive and richer in events and experiences," Zilli said on the sidelines of the event. "They will be opportunities for meeting, dialogue and exchange of knowledge between peoples who have been able to seize from the differences and tears of history opportunities to write new pages filled with many small and large goals to be achieved. This extraordinary event is about to be for border peoples all over Europe an example of how one can create even with tesserae of different colors and sizes a puzzle that reproduces the features of a territory that opens itself to the challenges of the future."
