(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JUL 26 - The Slovenian energy company HSE signed a contract for EU funding with the Clean Hydrogen Partnership for the so-called North Adriatic Hydrogen Valley project last week, the Slovenian news agency STA reported today.
This effectively gives the final go-ahead to the project, the agency noted. A Wednesday's HSE press release stated that the project will be initiated in September.
According to STA, as the lead partner, HSE signed the contract on behalf of all participating countries or regions - Slovenia, Croatia, and Italy's Friuli Venezia Giulia - but provided no additional information. The project involves 34 organisations and encompasses the entire hydrogen supply chain, from production and storage to distribution and final use in multiple sectors, including industry and transportation.
Key industrial players will develop 17 pilot projects across all three partner countries to produce, store, and distribute over 5,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year. (ANSA).
