(ANSA) - VIENNA, 26 AGO - For decades, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra has celebrated spring with the successful televised concert "Springtime from Vienna." Starting in 2025, the traditional Viennese orchestra will bring its musical spring to Trieste, holding three concerts as part of the new Easter festival "Springtime from Vienna." Jan Nast, Artistic Director of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, said: "We want to combine the best of two cultures: Trieste has always been a place of nostalgia for many Viennese, and our Easter concert has been the favored way to welcome spring for decades. As musical ambassadors of Vienna, through the new festival, we want to revitalize and reinterpret the shared history of the two cities, Vienna and Trieste, and the great cultural heritage of the entire Alpine-Danube-Adriatic region." The Vienna Symphony Orchestra and the Politeama Rossetti have a long-standing tradition: the orchestra held its first concert at the Teatro Stabile del Friuli Venezia Giulia "Il Rossetti" in 1902. In the orchestra's 125-year history, nine concerts have occurred in Trieste.
The musicians of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra will spend about a week at the Politeama Rossetti in 2025, revitalizing the cultural exchange between Italy and Austria.
The 2025 "Springtime from Vienna" festival program includes three evenings: April 11, 2025, 8:30 PM: Music by Verdi and Wagner, conducted by Petr Popelka with exceptional guest soloists; April 12, 2025, 7:30 PM: Symphonies by Mozart and Mahler, with Petr Popelka and Julia Kleiter.; April 13, 2025, 4:00 PM: A tribute to Johann and Josef Strauss and Puccini, conducted by Petr Popelka.
