(ANSA) - BELGRADE, OCT 22 - The Slovenian and Italian cities
of Nova Gorica and Gorizia will host over 400 events when they
jointly become the European Capital of Culture for a year on
February 8, 2025, including artistic, culinary, and sporting
events, the Slovenian news agency STA reports today. According
to STA, Mija Lorbek, the head of the institute GO! 2025, told
the press on Tuesday that the official programme will include

There will be four highlights. The first will take place on
Slovenian Culture Day, February 8, when the two cities will be
officially designated as European Capitals of Culture during the
opening ceremonies. The second highlight, also designed for
sports enthusiasts, is the Walk for Europe, which takes place
from May 1 to 9. Tastes without Borders will offer culinary
treats from September 26 to 28, during the region's largest
gastronomic festival, which will take place on both sides of the
border. The fourth highlight is the ceremony on December 1-5,
