Surge in racism against muslims in Europe: EU agency

Highest prevalence in Austria (71%) and Germany (68%)

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, OCT 24 - Almost one in every two Muslim respondents (47%) is a victim of racism and discrimination in their daily lives, a significant increase from 39% in 2016.
    Muslim respondents in Austria (71%), Germany (68%), and Finland (63%), reported the highest rates of racial discrimination in the five years preceding the survey. In contrast, Sweden, Spain, and Italy (tied with Greece) had the lowest rates of racial discrimination, at 22, 30, and 34%, respectively. This is the conclusion reached by the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) in its report "Being Muslim in the EU." (ANSA).
