(ANSA) - BELGRADE, DEC 5 - Pope Francis welcomed Slovenian
President Nataša Pirc Musar to the Vatican for an audience.
Pirc Musar and her entourage also met with Cardinal Pietro
Parolin, Secretary of State, who was accompanied by Msgr.
Miroslaw Wachowski, Under-Secretary for Relations with States.
Acording to a Vatican's press release, "during the cordial
discussions in the Secretariat of State, the good relations
existing between the Holy See and the Republic of Slovenia were
highlighted, as well as some open questions in Church-State
relations, highlighting the contribution of the Catholic Church
to Slovenian society." "They then focused on various
international issues, with particular attention to the Western
Balkans region, as well as conflicts in the Middle East and
Ukraine," the statement continues. (ANSA).
