(ANSA) - UDINE, 05 DIC - Caterina Petrillo, President of Area
Science Park, a leading institution in the field of research and
innovation based in Trieste, signed a Memorandum of
Understanding today in Belgrade with the Serbian science and
technology parks of Belgrade, Nis, Cacak, and Novi Sad.
The agreement is a further step in technical assistance
activity in technology transfer and economic development that
began in 2015.
The purpose of the three-year memorandum is to implement
joint projects in areas of common interest, such as life
sciences, energy transition, and innovative materials, and to
support innovation and technology transfer, with a particular
focus on the science parks involved, in line with the European
and national strategic objectives of Serbia and Italy.
The MoU also aims to facilitate student and staff mobility and
access to facilities and laboratories.
"As a public and national research institution of the MUR
(Ministry of University and Research) that is also in charge of
the management of the science and technology park in Trieste, we
have the opportunity to develop a double track of cooperation
with the parks of Serbia, which also involves the presence of
university and higher education institutions," Petrillo said,
underlining that Area Science Park's geographical location also
makes it a natural and privileged gateway to the Balkans.
