(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 20 LUG - Another 'red dot' Saturday is
expected to occur on the A4 Venice-Trieste motorway on July 22.
Traffic will be heavy in both directions in the morning and
along the route leading to Trieste in the afternoon. This is the
forecast of Autostrade Alto Adriatico (Upper Adriatic Highways)
for the weekend.
According to an estimate made by the concessionaire, between
177,000 and 185,000 vehicles will be passing through the network
on Saturday alone. Queues and traffic jams could occur at the
junctions serving the seaside resorts and in particular at the
Trieste/Lisert barrier (about 25,000 vehicles expected), in
Latisana (15,000-17,000), in San Donà, Cessalto, and San Stino
di Livenza. Traffic will also be hefty on the A23 along the
Udine Sud-Palmanova section.
During the day, marked with a 'yellow dot,' about 164,000
vehicles are estimated to pass through the network on Sunday.
Slowdowns could occur at the seaside toll booths and,
consequently, at the entrance booth to Latisana and the exit at
Lisert due to the first 'exodus' of tourists returning home and
to the arrival of those who take advantage of the weekend break.
In the meantime, the data processed by the concessionaire
confirms the growth in traffic at the beginning of the summer
exodus: Saturday, up 4.51% compared to the same Saturday (July
16) in 2022; Sunday, up 8.06%. The two toll booths of Udine Sud
(up 10.91%) and San Donà (up 9.65%) recorded growth on Saturday,
and the same thing happened at Villesse (up 5.87%), as traffic
was redirected using the variable message signs carried out by
the concessionaire along the A34 route (Villesse-Gorizia) due to
the 3 km queues at the Trieste/Lisert exit. (ANSA).
